02. ROBIN HOOD AND THE TEMPLARS

Robin Hood and the Templars (2009)

This article discusses the book 'Robin Hood and the Lords of Wellow' that suggests the enigmatic character of Robin Hood may actually have been based on several generations of Knights who lived in a castle 'a little without the wood' and built a fortified village for their 'Merry Men'. I relate Molyneux-Smith's theories to some of the landscape geometry that connects the Sherwood and Lincoln areas and add a little of my own genealogical and historical research into the mix to find that these gentle Knights had links with the Templars.

The book referenced in this article is 'Robin Hood and the Lords of Wellow' by Tony Molyneux Smith. Published by Nottinghamshire County Library Service in 1998
